What maybe didn't get added that I think is the funniest detail is that those fandom homophobes were threatening to /report those to AO3/. I shit you not.

Just to be clear, these fics were very properly tagged. (In fact, one that got a lot of hate was by my friend, who is herself an AO3 tag wrangler - she if anyone knows how this shit works!) They used the name of the (F/M) canon ship, but they tagged the fic as only M/M and put "Male [Female Character Name]" and "Rule 63" in the additional tags. It was very easy for these people to NOT click on it. It was very clear what it was.

What the homophobes were mad about was that ANYTHING gay was showing up in their precious canon het ship tag that they felt like they Owned, that they had to be reminded that gay shit existed in this fandom at all. And so they'd made up a personal rule in their subreddits full of assholes that it was "wrong" to use the canon ship tag for that (to do what every other fandom on AO3 does, so how is anyone not in their shitty little club supposed to know anyway?) because just SEEING that some people are writing M/M or F/F versions of their het ships is somehow "uncool" to them. (Yes these people were equally enraged by F/F versions; it was funny to read their discourse where they tried to claim that doing M/M versions of an F/M ship was "misogynistic," but somehow thought the same criticism applied when people did F/F versions. So even more women is.... misogynistic somehow? just really made it clear how unintelligent these people were, not even thinking slightly through the arguments thy're making just copy and pasting.)

And they really thought AO3, the website that was founded by slashers fed up with fandom homophobes /just like them/ driving them off other sites, was going to sympathize with them over this????

(Also, do they really not get that if someone did use a tag of "Male Character Name/Male!Female Character Name," it was just going to be synned by tag wranglers into the tag of "Male Character Name/Female Character Name" anyway?)

I just thought you'd think it was so funny. Lady Tilley Arnold theory

The main point of my theory is: Lady Tilley Arnold was her own "deceased" husband.

I know I know, but listen to me, the Bridgerton's makers do everything on purpose, every little detail of the clothes, environment, decor etc. And I have a bunch of prooves for my theory.

I don't know if that's a trans situation or just her wanting to be in that particular social role, but let's go.

1. Ok, the thing I noticed the first. Her cleavage zone looks unsual for the show. Her dresses look a little bit different than everyone's else. Less showing. And even when the cleavage aloows to show some boobs, that part of the dress often seems to be a little bit empty (which contrasts with the usual Bridgerton "push-up the boobies as much as possible" style a lot). Like the dress looks like a right shape, but her chest looks flat.

2. Her room. It's dark colors. Green, brown. Do you know which rooms have the same color scheme in this show? Men's rooms. Anthony's cabinet, Colin's cabinet, Colin's bedroom, Lord Fetherington's cabinet and bedroom. Only the red curtains look a little bit too bright/a little bit off, like if someone added them without redecorating the whole room to just slightly change the mood.

3. "I was married. He died." she said. Not "My husband died" or "I'm a widow", but this interesting wording. Sounds a little bit odd and smooth to tell the truth not telling the truth. Like old me died, new me is here right now.

4. When Benedict meets her for the 2nd time, she's looking at the statue. Again, most things on this show are intentional and meaningful. And that scene took to long to be just random. She's looking at the statue, that looks like a Venus statue. And Venus is who? Feminity, all the woman things. If she was ment to be "not so feminine lady" that won't be a first thing to choose for her to stare at, u know. Then why is she looking at it? Because she's glad to be who she always felt she is. Just a suggetion. Or maybe it's connected to the Androgyny of Venus in some statues? Idk, I'm not a Greek mythology pro, but that seemed to be an interesting scene to me

5. "Well, then you have misjudged me. I am all for brute strength. In fact, I much prefer it to aimless talking" she says. Which is interesting too. And right after that their dance happens. And it feels to me that there happens a conversation without words between them. While they're dancing, at some point she takes the male role and leads the dance. Benedict looks condused at first, but accepts it and they dance like this. (all the females are to the right, all the males are to the left, except for them) Was it "an action" instead of "the words" to discuss something?

6. The music while they're dancing. I've seen some complains of the showrunners reusing the music from the season 2. People say like that was the family moment etc. etc. But I rewatched that scene from the 2nd season (during the Bridgerton+Shama ball when no one came and they danced with each other) and it was not about the family. It was about the harmony, the harmony with yourself and being whoever you feels right to be without looking at what is and what is not appropriate for the sosciety. Which suits Lady Tilley and Benedict's dance if my theory is correct pretty nicely.

7. During their making out scene in her bed, her chest is covered with the cloth. Bridgerton show is usually not too shy to show nudity and if they need to not show female body, they prefer to use pretty underwear, but not such trick as cloth. Interesting, that in a promo for the 2nd part of season 3 she's in the bed wearing the drak robe. Which is again not too Bridgerton-y or feminine.

8. While in her bed, Benedict is on the righ side of the bed and she is on the left one. I was rewatching the older season and noticed that every time they show the spouses' bed there's the husband who's on the left side of the bed (Violet Bridgerton, Mondrich, Bassets, Kate+Anthony). Why? Because that's originally her part of the bed since you know... my theory.

9. "You're MY solicitor" she says to a solicitor when Benedict visits her. Usually solicitor works with male only. In the Queen Charlotte spin-off show Lady Danbury even says that solicitor would probably refuse to talk to her, so she decided not to sign her name saying "Better he think I'm an impolite man". And you know what? At the same time there's a person who looks at the inheritance documents and search for the frauds. What if he has questions to her "husbans"'s will papers and now her solicitor has to provide her some better papers to convince the inspector. "I shall retern with things in order" he replies. She also asks Benedict if he came to "overcharge her as well", so she either has a lack of money or she has to pay her solicitor an overcharged sum. What if it's the silence fee?

10. Well, and their first interaction with Benedict was "My apologies, I thought you were a... - A man?". And that's her first line ever in the show is. You may say "C'mon, teal, she's just a lady with male interests", BUT! the only scene that points at it is this one. She's pretty feminine all the other times and everyone of the ton talks to her like she's a lady. No shade. No judjment (like when they speak about Eloise during previous seasons or Anthony joking on Kate being able to shoot). If that was the point there would be more than one moment/line pointing at that.

I hope you enjoyed my little theory. Anyway, the 2nd part of the season is just in a week from now and we'll find out if I'm right or wrong UwU

hmmmm I mean Ozai was pretty straight forward when he said to Zuko "it was to teach you respect" it doesn't make the situation any less fucked up but he's not lying about his motivation. Also Zuko and Azula aren't the only ones who try and act as a mini version of their father. Ozai reacts to Zuko's pragmatism in the war council the same way Azulon reacted to Ozai's suggetion of becoming the heir to the throne after Lu Ten's death.

I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but this is something I'm gonna need everyone to understand real quick.

Whatever Ozai might say, it is not about respect.

In fact, the show has Zuko call this out, when Ozai tells Zuko it was to teach him respect in "The Day of Black Sun," and Zuko says, "It was cruel, and it was wrong!"

I believe that Ozai believes it's about respect, but Ozai is an abuser and abusers are notoriously good at lying to themselves.

Abuse is always, always, always about power.

And actually, Azulon's treatment of Ozai is a big part of why I think Azulon was an abuser, too.

First we need to understand this one rule, that abuse is always about power, and that whatever excuse the abuser gives is always going to be wrong (even if the abuser is able to convince themselves that it's true).

But also, if we really break down the idea that Ozai was trying to teach Zuko respect, does that even hold up?

Did Zuko learn respect by being burned?

Think about Zuko at the beginning of the series. Is this a teenager that has learned how to be respectful? Would you use that adjective to describe Zuko, age sixteen, circa book one, episode one?

Zuko, as we are introduced to him, is angry, rude, hateful, and full of rage. And he became that way through abuse. Abuse did not teach him respect. It never does. It didn't teach Ozai, and it didn't teach Zuko. It's a vicious cycle and if Zuko hadn't learned better, far from learning respect, he would have actually learned how to become just like Ozai, an angry, hateful person doling out cruelty because he never got the "respect" he thought he deserved and not understanding that respect is actually earned through giving it.

Also, consider that Ozai has another child, who he thinks is so much better than Zuko, who he heaps praise upon and thinks very highly of. If you look at the way Ozai interacts with Azula vs how he interacts with Zuko, the idea that his treatment of Zuko was about "respect" becomes the obvious lie that it is, because we see Azula act incredibly rude and disrespectful to basically every person around her, including Ozai, and he continues to praise her for it. Azula isn't any more respectful than Zuko, Ozai just has this idea in his head of what his kids are like and treats them accordingly. That's kinda the thing with the golden child / scapegoat dynamic.

Zuko isn't even respectful to Ozai at the beginning of the series. He fears Ozai, but as Zhao remarks, what Ozai did didn't teach Zuko anything about speaking respectfully, because it had nothing to do with that.

Because you can't teach someone respect by disrespecting them, especially a child. What children learn from this is that the way to be powerful is to disrespect others. They learn to fear others, and they learn that fear will earn them a facsimile of respect, but, like Azula at the end of the series, they are left wondering why their lives still feel empty.

Iroh did.

Iroh taught Zuko respect by treating him with respect, even when Zuko was disrespectful to him. Iroh taught Zuko that Zuko deserved respect, and that also meant he didn't deserve what his father did to him.

The irony of Ozai's statement about respect is like, the entire point. Ozai has no authority to talk about respect while he's raising a hand to a terrified child. Someone who knows anything about respect would not need to terrorize children to try to get it.

Abuse is always about power, and always about the abuser, and never about the victim.

I'm posting this to calm some Beetlejuice fans with anxiety

Okay, I know I can't tell you anything official. Only Tim Burton can do that. But here are my reasons for believing Beetlejuice was NOT destroyed at the end of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

All right, here there be spoilers. We're talking about the end of the movie so I figured spoilers would be obvious but... This is The Internet... SPOILERS! Why I do NOT believe Beetlejuice was destroyed at the end of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. 1. Beetlejuice violated a rule of The Netherworld in taking a mortal into The Land of The Dead. This voids Beetlejuice's contract with Lydia. It does not mean instant death. Nothing is said in-canon to sugget this. 2. Lydia banishes Beetlejuice by saying his name three times. As established in the previous film this is how you banish him after he has been invoked. 3. I've seen some speculation of "But there is some lore where if you banish a ghost enough times the ghost is destroyed." Really? Speaking as an armchair folklorist, occultist, and paranormal researcher... What lore is this? That's not in any folklore or movie I've ever seen and more importantly it never comes up in either of the Beetlejuice movies, Beetlejuice Broadway musical, Beetlejuice comic books, Beetlejuice amusement park live show, or the Beetlejuice animated series. Rule of thumb if it's not established in the canon of the franchise, or tie-ins to the franchise (even AUs) than chances are it's not canon. Also if I humor the idea that banishing him "too many times" will destroy him than shouldn't that have happened already? Obviously he's been very busy with his bio-exorcism business (the small-heads managing his call centre). Each customer invokes him by calling his name three times and then sends him away when they're done by also saying his name three times. That would be a LOT of invocations and banishments. Why would Lydia's banishment be one too many? There was nothing to suggest this.

4. Yes, Beetlejuice inflates and he never did that when being banished previously in the films. This is true. However each banishment or invocation is unique. In the first movie, the first time he's banished it is by Barbara while he's messing with the Deetz family in the form of a giant snake. When banished he says "Oh, no!" and Then pops away from his snake form and the banister is back to normal. The inflation is also a direct and deliberate homage to the first episode of the Beetlejuice animated series. In that episode we see him inflate and pop and there's even a song number that mentions it. "Biodegradable, semi-inflatable, ghost with the most!" Why would popping as a balloon suddenly destroy him? He was eaten by a Sandworm in the first movie. And his head was shrunk at the end of the first movie. That didn't last either. I didn't think anyone thought it would. He can shapeshift. 5. In the Beetlejuice movies only two ways of destroying ghosts have been established and even they are negotiable. Exorcism and being eaten by a soul sucker (Succubus). (Justice for Bob!) Being banished (sent back to The Netherworld (Neither world in the animated series) via name de-invocation) is not the same as an exorcism. 6. If he was really destroyed do you honestly think Beetlejuice's last words would be a casual "Should've got married in Vegas."? 7. At the end of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Lydia has a dream within a dream and when she wakes up from the secondary dream we can hear Beetlejuice cackle before his (apparent) favorite song's disco cover starts to play on the end credits. Much like the Evil Ed laugh and and "You're so cool Brewster!" at the end of the original 1985 Fright Night, this was to tell us he's really still alive. (FYI for the curious, in Fright Night Evil Ed was supposed to be the villain in Fright Night: Part 2 in 1988 by the way but the actor didn't want to come back to the franchise at the time. So the character came back in the comics instead.) 8. There is no canonical reason in-story to believe Beetlejuice was destroyed by violating his contract and being banished. There was nothing established to suggest this would happen. I've watched the second movie twice now and have the first movie pretty much memorized. There's nothing in the lore to even hint that this would destroy him. 9. Tim Burton doesn't like to kill his favorite characters and Beetlejuice is one of his favorites. 10. If we take The "Hot Ones" crossover video as canon and taking place after the second movie, than he's definitely still around. 11. He can't be destroyed because... Somebody left the cake out in the rain...

Hi, you are amazing for archiving so much of Lolita history! I’ve been wanting to archive some images as well but I just can’t find the right software. I tried notion but that didn’t work. I was thinking of maybe OneDrive, but I like adding captions and knowing where the images come from. Do you have any recommendations?

Unfortunately, I don't really. My day job is web development, not anything in the archival sciences, so I'm not super familiar with software designed for that purpose. I've used tumblr, but that does reduce image quality and is limited in search ability. Lolita History uses Piwigo, which is just image gallery software that I installed on my web hosting. Piwigo does allow you to tag things and add descriptions, but it's mot really designed for archival use. You might consider looking into something like archivematica, or try searching for things similar to that? I'm sure I have some librarians and archivists in my followers though! Can any of you all sugget something better for archiving image content related to Japanese street fashion?

“But why her?!”

“Jay-bird, it’s okay.” (Y/n) said trying to calm him down.

“No it’s not! I just got you back and now he wants to use you to lure that jackass and crazy bitch out!”

“I know it’s not ideal. I just got away from them a few years ago but if I can help in anyway I will. You know that.”

“I know but...”

(Y/n) looked into his eyes. “Jason, let me help catch the basturd that killed you.”

“Fine but the minute I sense you’re in danger, I pull you out.”

“Deal.”

Jason ran to the last place they saw (Y/n).

“Anybody got eyes on her?”

‘We are trying Jay.’

“They couldn’t have gotten far.”

“Oh screw you Dick! I bet you were the one to suggest using her like this!”

They turned the corner and saw (Y/n) standing over Joker with a metal pipe in her hand.

“Holy...” Dick started.

“Shit!” Jason yelled running over to her.

She turned and smiled at him.

Dick walked up to Jason.

“No baby. We need to get back to the cave and talk to Bruce.”

Jacob went silent, knowing that Ben was right and he might be able to clean himself properly with one hand.

Ben: Besides, I need to make sure that your stump doesn't get infected.

Jacob: This just feels really embarrassing at this point.

Ben: We've seen each other naked before.

Jacob: Don't make this weird.

Ben: You know it's true though, And I promised that this interaction will stay between us.

Jacob: It better be or else I'm going to come for your head.

Ben: I will keep that in mind’dumps some of the water onto jacob’s head’now stay still while i continue to bathe you.

That was a bad decision sinc Jacob tasted some of the soap and gagged, Ben just shakes his head before he continues to bathe his best friend.
